See How the Stars Brightly Shine

music and lyrics by Bernard Hull

See how the stars brightly shine in the night,

Candles reply with their flickering light,

Looking around, every eye has a twinkle
of anticipation tonight,

People are singing of a baby born in a manger,

Come join the festivities, lift up your voice and sing,

To Jesus, the King.

Shepherds in the field so long ago now,

Looking after all their flocks at night,

Suddenly an angel stood before them,

Giving them an awful fright.

“Do not fear, I bring great joy,

To every woman, man, girl and boy,

Jesus Christ is born this day,

Come to take your sins away.”

Suddenly the sky was filled with heavenly
choirs praising God,

“Glory to God in the highest. Peace and
good will to The Earth.”

Quickly the shepherds all ran to see what
the angels foretold,

Reaching the stable, they entered, kneeling
as one in the cold,

Men from the east saw the star and followed it
to where He lay,

Offering gold, myrrh and incense there on
that first Christmas day,

In the same way we all gather worshipping
the new born King,

Loud to the world we proclaim Him,

Jesus, Messiah,

Now lift up your voices and sing.

Come worship Jesus Christ, our redeemer,

Come as a child, from heaven to earth,

With thankful hearts we sing loud in praise,

For his marvellous birth,

Bringing love to The Earth,

Jesus, Lord at your birth!
